Master's programme in telemedicine and eHealth

In the autumn of 2005, the University of Tromsø launched a 2-year master's programme for education in telemedicine and eHealth. Students can choose between technology and health specialties, and the programme starts each autumn. The master's programme is developed by and run in close collaboration between the University of Tromsø and the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine (NST).

The idea behind the development and introduction of telemedicine is to move information instead of patients and reduce the growing burden on the public health service. The master's programme in telemedicine and eHealth gives you an in-depth introduction to medical technology, how the health sector is organized, and the best ways to introduce telemedicine to provide an improved service to patients.

New students are admitted each autumn, and the language of instruction is English. The teaching is a combination of lectures and group work. All students write a final master's thesis, and it is possible to take parts of the programme abroad.
