The Norwegian Centre for integrated care and telemedicine (NST) has been nominated as an Ambassador Platform for e-health in inaccessible regions. The main thematic focuses will be on telemedicine support to inaccessible regions, emergency situations and e-learning.
As a part of its mission NST will arrange a workshop to throw light on the technological telecommunications improvements over the past few years that have greatly expanded the potential for implementing ICT services in inaccessible regions.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together users and stakeholders from the wide variety of backgrounds needed to address the issues ultimately necessary to deliver e-Health solutions that improve human health in inaccessible areas of the world. Furthermore the workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss the potential that the newly created ESA Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) Programme might bring in this domain.
The workshop will take place in Tromsø Norway, hosted by the IAP Ambassador Platform for e-Health in inaccessible regions (eHIR) and Norwegian Centre for Integrated Care and Telemedicine, a WHO collaborating centre for Telemedicine.
We invite participants from health institutions, academia, industry, NGOs and government that are committed to improving human health in inaccessible regions, and that are interested in contributing to the design, implementation, maintenance, or use of e-Health systems.
Date: November 10, 2010.
