Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference 2004:
WHO makes use of the Tromsø resource community
Telemedicine and eHealth have gained a significant place in the World Health Organization (WHO). As WHO's only Collaborating Centre in telemedicine, the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine in Tromsø is an important player in the development of future projects in different parts of world.
 | | Steffen Groth, Director of the Department of Essential Health Technologies, WHO Geneva, was in Tromsø together with WHO's Information Technology Officer Irma Velazquez to draw on the resources of the telemedicine community in the Arctic city with the aim of developing eHealth services in other regions of the world. |

Facts about TTeC 2004:Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference was held from 21 to 23 June 2004.
This year is the fifth time the Norwegian Centre for Telemedicine is organizing the conference, which gathers some 300 participants from 23 countries over 3 days. This years theme is "Citizen participation in eHealth: Challenges for research, technologies and health care organisations". |
